My ultimate goal as an educator is to encourage people to be lifelong students, to advocate for equitable access to higher education, and to support students in innovating new ways to address social and environmental issues. I aim to be accessible to students, to encourage students to develop their communication skills, and to operate with the philosophy that we know more together as a group than as individuals.

Programs such as the Cornell Prison Education Program (CPEP) incubate incarcerated persons’ academic and personal ambitions as they work towards their associates degrees, and substantially reduce recidivism rates. Erin Larson and I designed, curated course materials, and taught two courses through CPEP in 2016 and 2018. We also supervised an undergraduate teaching assistant.
